I finally have time to bake again. There have been family and friends events left and right for the past few weeks. This time, I made Mango Mousse. Even though I couldn’t find Mango Puree, I found Mango Pulp instead at Christina’s Ice Cream place on Cambridge St. My sweet husband and critic loves this Mango Mousse. Due to time constraints, I used lady fingers. I will have to make a cake layer next time.

My brother John and his fiancé recently took a professional wedding photo shoot in Shen Zhen, China. It’s a big deal for to-be-married couples get these types of glamour photos taken in Asia. I have to say the studio, Gu Feng Shang, did a nice good job. I especially like the outdoor photos. I am excited that they will be married later this year.

It’s that time of the year for mooncakes. We are loyal to Wing Wah Mooncakes as they are the best ones we have had so far. We stopped buying any other brands since we found Wing Wah to be the most consistent in making and tasting. Its mooncakes are always smooth and moist. Every year we get the White Lotus Seed Paste Mooncake (2 Yolks). More to come on tasting ice mooncakes later.

A year ago today Ed and I legalized our relationship and became husband and wife in the court of law. Time sure flies! I can’t remember much about that day except we read each other the typical marriage vow. Immediately after the court, we drove to Acadia National Park and spent a few amazing days there. It was such a good time and I hope to continue to share and enjoy life with Ed in the years to come. He truly has made me feel a lucky girl.

Tonight we had dinner with Chantima and Mek at Oishii Boston. Dev and Linda also joined us. The food was heavenly. Every dish was so delicious and super fresh. Whenever we come to Oishii, we never get disappointed. Of course, at the end of the meal, we had to have the highly recommended Green Tea Tiramisu. Good food comes with a price tag. But hey, life is short, eat while you can.

During Chantima and Mek’s stay, we had to take them to Pastiche. How could we not, after all Pastiche is our favorite place for desserts. We totally just went crazy and ordered 6 desserts and 1 lemon mousse cake to go. Ed had his favorite Banana Cream Tart and I tried the White Chocolate Orange Torte. Mek had a Peach Shortcake and Chantima had the fruit tart. Oh yeah, we also had two lemon mousse cake slices for the four of us to share.

Chantima and Mek are visiting Boston during Labor Day week. It was so good to see them again since they moved to Switzerland. To kick off the week, we had a wonderful dinner at Grill 23 & Bar. I have nothing else to say about Grill 23 except amazing. As always the food was superb. Ed had a 24 oz Porterhouse Steak and I had the Maine Scallops. Even though the dessert menu wasn’t so interesting but we had Cold Stone ice cream to wrap up the perfect meal.
